Ambrose Alli University is a state-owned tertiary institution, located in Benin City, Edo State. It was founded in 1991 to help enhance knowledge acquisition and social growth in the state. Positioned as one of the leading and most competitive state University in Nigeria, it has adapted teaching and research to human development, socio-cultural growth and technological development of its host state as well as the country.
The University runs on twelve faculties , namely Agriculture, Arts, Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Education, Engineering & Technology, Environmental Studies, Law, Management Science, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Social Sciences. In addition to this are the
College of Medicine, the Postgraduate School, the Centre for Strategic and Development Studies, the Institute of Governance and Development and the Institute of Education.
