Admission Criteria

Direct Entry
  • A’ level passes or equivalent in Physics and Mathematics.
  • ND with Upper Credit/HND in related discipline
  • HND with a minimum of Lower Credit Pass in Agricultural Engineering from Accredited Institution.

  • Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any from Introduction to Agricultural Science, Implement and Machine, Principles of Crop Husbandry and Land Use, Materials and Workshop Processes, onstruction and Maintenance of Agricultural Machines, General Metal Work, General Wood Work and Building/Engineering Drawing.
  • UTME subjects must include Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

  • Introduction to Agriculture Engineering: This course studies the concept and importance of agricultural engineering as a discipline and various options/areas of specialisation in the discipline.
  • Farm Electrification:  This studies the electrical Codes, tariffs and regulations. It discusses electrical power transmission and farm stead planning, testing procedures, Power factor corrections. 
  • Irrigation Engineering: The course defines irrigation, considers the scope of irrigation and enumerates the factors affecting irrigation.
  • Agricultural Machinery: This studies various farm machinery and equipment that aid efficient and optimum crop cultivation.
  • Processing and Storage of Agricultural Products: This covers the the processing and storage of agricultural products or biomaterials. It also talks about the importance of processing and storage, series of unit operations involved in processing and storing farm produce including cleaning, grading and sorting, drying and dehydration, milling, agricultural wastes and bye-products utilisation, handling, packaging and transportation.
