Course Overview

BSc Architecture is an undergraduate programme of the Kano State University of Science and Technology.. It explores the humanistic determinants of construction forms, and the role of architecture in the formal proposition, analysis and synthesis in the design process. It educates students on the use of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), building information modelling (BIM) and hand-drawing skills for creating designs and construction drawings. It also encompasses the methods of restoring and conserving old buildings, and developing new ways of using existing ones.

Architects offer significant expertise in urban planning, real estate and other construction works, as designers of building propositions. They are often involved in the whole construction process, from idea initiation through to the project completion. Architects outlines the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project with clients. They can also provide various pre-design services, such as feasibility and environmental impact studies, site selection, cost analyses, and design requirements. The University has designed the course to enable you to learn the professional skills and techniques used in the field.

At the completion of the four-year degree programme, you will become a professional architect, with the expertise to create construction plans, structural drawing, and roadmaps for building projects.
