Course Overview

Communication and Language Arts explores the process of transmitting information, and the role of language in thus. It outlines verbal and non-verbal methods by which we communicate, including speaking and listening, behavioural clues, the written word and media messages. It prepares students to understand all types of communications, while also educating them on how to create and present effective communication strategies of your own. Undergraduates will develop  a solid foundation of communication theories, build strong writing skills and enhance their ability to persuade, listen and comprehend efficiently.

The course equips graduates witth a strong technical communication skills for efficient language use, public relations and corporatel communication. You will acquire such skills as applicable to careers in  consulting, human resources, marketing and sales, public relations, advertising, politics, government, and management. Admission Criteria

Direct Entry
  • Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Arts or Social Science subjects.

  • Five SSCE credit passes or equivalent including English Language, Lit. in English, Arts/Music
  • UTME subjects must include any three Arts or Social Science subjects.

How do I apply?

Step 1: Log in to University’s admission portal using your JAMB Registration Number as the  surname and password. The screening costs N2, 000, which would be paid through the admission portal in favour of University of Ibadan (Admission Processing Fee Account)
Step 2: Candidates should print the payment success receipt displaying the full names of the candidate and JAMB registration number as payee and the payment reference number.
Step 3: Upon successful payment, candidates should proceed to the portal to submit their bio-data and O/level results, following every instructions and writing in CAPITAL letters.
Step 4: Candidates should upload their passport photographs and signature, both of which must be clean, clear, without glasses and, in JPEG. The size must also not exceed 50kb.
Step 5: Print the evidence of completion of transaction and keep for further reference, while awaiting the date of the Post-UTME examination via email and SMS.
